George M. Bob-Milliar is Senior Lecturer in the Department of History and Political Studies, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, one of the most prestigious public universities in Ghana. He received his PhD from the University of Ghana/Institute of African Studies in 2012. His areas of research cut across three related disciplines; political ethnography, history and development studies. His research interests include democratic studies; political economy of development; culture, religion and ethnicity; qualitative methods; informal institutions; regional, local and urban politics; African diaspora and migration patterns. He has published in the preeminent journals in his field of specialization including, African Affairs, The Journal of Modern African Studies, Democratization, Journal of Asian and African Studies, Africa, Urban Anthropology, International Journal of African Historical Studies, African Studies Quarterly and Africa Spectrum. He has been visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge, Makerere University, and the Danish Institute for International Studies. He has received the African Author Prize for the best article published in African Affairs by an author based in an African institution (2010), and a prize for his contribution to research on African policy issues from the Centre for International Governance Innovation, 2012. He currently edits the Journal of African Political Economy and Development https://afec-japed.org/ and sits on the editorial boards of African Affairs and African Review of Economics & Finance.
