Dr. Martial Fanga is a Scholar, Mentor, and Associate Editor of the Journal of African Political Economy and Development. He currently serves as an Associate Professor at Danat Al Emerat Hospital Expatriate Services in Abu Dhabi, UAE. With a rich professional history, he has held pivotal roles in academia, including Director of Graduate and Interim Undergraduate Programs in Mass Communication-Journalism at Bissai University Institute, Cameroon, and as a part-time Assistant Professor at several universities across the country. In addition to his academic endeavors, Dr. Fanga has practical experience as a radio journalist and is currently completing a fellowship in the Social Science Department at the University of Religions and Denominations in Qom, Iran.
As Associate Editor of the Journal of African Political Economy and Development (JAPED), Dr. Fanga brings a multidisciplinary lens to his editorial duties, informed by his deep expertise in political science, African and world history, political sociology, and communication studies. His editorial stewardship at JAPED strengthens its mission to foster rigorous scholarship on Africa’s political and economic complexities. His leadership ensures that the journal maintains its high standards of interdisciplinary inquiry and relevance to policy and development discourse across the continent.
Dr. Fanga’s academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Political Science, with a specialization in comparative politics, international relations, and political philosophy, earned from Atlantic International University in the USA. He also holds dual Master’s degrees in Political Science and History, as well as a Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication.
A prolific contributor to academia, Dr. Fanga serves on editorial boards for nearly 20 international peer-reviewed journals and acts as a referee for prestigious publications, such as the Harvard Misinformation Review, African Studies Review, and Journal of Interdisciplinary History (MIT). Beyond his editorial contributions, he is deeply committed to mentoring undergraduate and graduate researchers, cultivating a new generation of scholars in political science, communication, and related disciplines.
