Prof. George Meyeri Bob-Milliar is an accomplished Associate Professor of African Studies specializing in Politics and History at the Department of History and Political Studies, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi-Ghana. He has demonstrated exemplary leadership by serving three consecutive terms as the Head/Chair of his department and currently directs the Centre for Cultural and African Studies (CeCASt). As an interdisciplinary scholar, his research spans political science, history, and development studies, with a focus on electoral politics in Ghana, informal institutions, socio-political history, and the African Diaspora.

Prof. Bob-Milliar is a prolific researcher with publications in top-ranked journals and recognition for his scholarly contributions. Notably, he received the inaugural African Author Prize from African Affairs in 2010 and a research award from the Centre for International Governance Innovation in Canada in 2012. His academic contributions have been bolstered by numerous grants and fellowships, allowing him to pursue advanced research and teaching engagements as a visiting fellow at prestigious institutions, including the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, Makerere University, the Nile Valley Multiversity and the Danish Institute for International Studies.

One of Prof. Bob-Milliar’s most notable achievements is his extensive editorial experience. He serves as an editor for leading academic journals, including African Affairs, African Economic History, and the Contemporary Journal of African Studies. His editorial expertise extends across multiple disciplines, reflecting his commitment to advancing rigorous scholarship on African issues. Additionally, he is a member of the editorial boards of several other reputable journals, further showcasing his influence in the academic community.

Through his editorial leadership of the Journal of African Political Economy and Development, research accomplishments, and dedication to mentoring students and scholars, Prof. Bob-Milliar continues to shape and enrich the fields of African studies, political history, and development studies.
